Who at the NYRR.Necessary cookies are absolutely essential for the website to function properly. This is coming from an avid fan of running. No mater how it is advertised as “An event with thousands of different stories” it only disrupts traffic and people’s schedules to have it go on for hours and hours until it is over. I think that these races have to stop trying to have more and more runners. I heard it is to accommodate more runners. I don’t know why it was so dramatically changed from the course it had in which the runners go around Central Park then down 7th Avenue and turn west at 42nd Street and down the West Side Highway to the Wall Street area. I think that next year or not much more than in another two years the course will be changed even another time. It will go through some obscure streets in lower Manhattan and it is really odd that it starts in Brooklyn never mind that the FDR drive has to be closed for hours for this event. ![]() The New York Road Runners Org has chosen such a strange course for this year’s NYC half marathon. ![]()
